Qatar and Burkina Faso are exploring new areas of cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence and digital development. The discussions took place in Doha as representatives from both countries looked at ways to strengthen business and investment ties.
During the meeting, Mohamed bin Towar Al Kuwari, First Vice-President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, and Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed received Kassoum Kiendrebeogo, Chairman of the Board of Sahal Tech Innovation Labs. Burkina Faso’s chargé d’affaires in Qatar also attended the meeting.
In addition, the discussions focused on artificial intelligence, the digital economy and investment opportunities. Both sides also examined ways to build stronger links between Qatari and Burkinabe business communities.
Meanwhile, the Qatar Chamber welcomed Sahal Tech’s efforts to support technological development in Africa. It also expressed interest in identifying new areas for cooperation with the Burkinabe technology company.
Furthermore, Kiendrebeogo presented Sahal Tech’s long-term vision for Africa’s technology sector. The company aims to develop a major African technology ecosystem built around artificial intelligence, African languages, cloud computing, cybersecurity and skills development.
At the same time, the discussions highlighted the potential for technology partnerships to support innovation and investment across the continent. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication and explore concrete opportunities.
Finally, the meeting marks another step toward stronger economic and technological links between Qatar and Burkina Faso. The two sides now aim to turn discussions into practical partnerships, investments and projects that can contribute to Africa’s digital transformation.
