Gabon has renewed its call for an end to the embargo imposed on Cuba, defending the principles of sovereignty and respect for nations.
Speaking from New York, Libreville reaffirmed its support for Cuba and stressed the importance of international cooperation that respects the autonomy of each state.
The Cuban ambassador to Gabon, Alex González García, welcomed the position and expressed gratitude for what he described as Gabon’s consistent support for Havana.
Gabon has previously defended Cuba in international forums. The latest position therefore reflects Libreville’s continued support for lifting the embargo.
For Gabon, the issue goes beyond its bilateral relations with Cuba. Libreville presents its position as part of a broader call for international governance that respects the aspirations of peoples and the sovereignty of states.
