The Democratic Republic of Congo is looking to attract more foreign investment into its agricultural and industrial sectors. Althon Group has offered to help connect Congolese authorities with Israeli and European companies interested in business opportunities in the country.
The initiative was discussed on September 22, 2026, during a meeting in Kinshasa between Foreign Trade Minister Julien Paluku and Althon Group CEO Alexandre Piha. Discussions focused on attracting investors and expanding the presence of Congolese products in Israeli and European markets.
The strategy has two main objectives: bringing new capital and expertise into the DRC while creating additional export opportunities for local producers. However, no specific investment value, project or purchase agreement has been announced so far.
Following the meeting, Congolese and Althon Group experts agreed to work together on future economic and trade missions. They are also expected to prepare a DRC-Israel business forum aimed at connecting companies and potential investors.
The initiative follows several efforts to strengthen economic ties between the DRC and Israel in 2026. In July, Congolese investment officials met Israeli businesses in Tel Aviv to discuss opportunities in agriculture, technology, healthcare, water management and innovation.
Meanwhile, President Félix Tshisekedi’s working visit to Israel in late August and early September also focused on potential cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, energy and advanced technologies.
The latest discussions with Althon Group therefore add another step to the growing economic relationship. The impact will depend on the implementation of planned business missions and the emergence of concrete investment projects.
