French defender Axel Disasi has completed a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace, marking his third temporary departure from Chelsea since joining the London club.
The 28-year-old centre-back, who spent time at Aston Villa and West Ham United over the past two seasons, will now ply his trade at Selhurst Park under manager Pierre Sage. The deal is understood to be a paid loan arrangement, with no purchase option included.
« I am very happy. The club has been moving in the right direction, so I think it was the right place for me to continue, » Disasi said upon completing the move.
Despite his experience in the Premier League, Disasi has fallen out of Chelsea’s long-term plans. He remains under contract with the Blues until 2029, but the club has opted to sanction another loan to allow the player regular playing time.
Crystal Palace, who have shown steady progress under their current management, will benefit from Disasi’s defensive solidity and Premier League experience. The Frenchman is expected to bring leadership and composure to the backline as the Eagles aim to build on their positive momentum this season.
